Scuffles broke out in Chios Island on Sunday night between riot police and angry locals objecting to the relocation of migrants.
Locals were demonstrating against the establishment of a temporary migrant accommodation facility at the Tampakika area of the island.
About 50 migrants due to be ferried across to Turkey under the landmark EU deal were transferred to a building.
Locals fear that the temporary accommodation may become a permanent migrant centre.
According to reports, riot police attacked the crowd that had gathered to demonstrate outside the building.
Three people were injured during the clashes and transferred to the local hospital.
