The price of tickets in all Public Transportation means change as of today, September 1st from 1.40 euros to 1.20 euros. However, the duration of a valid ticket has also changed from 90 to 70 minutes.
The 20-euro pass for buses, trams and trolley buses is abolished and it is replaced by an unlimited route pass, with monthly cost of 30 euros.
Moreover, commuters are now able to buy three-month and six-month unlimited route passes as usual.
The old 1.40-euro tickets will remain valid through the end of March. Existing one-year passes for buses, trolley buses and the tram, priced at 200 euros, will be valid until the date of expiration, while commuters will also have the option of upgrading them to include all modes of transport. Holders of 450-euro passes, which allow for travel on all modes for one year, will also be able to keep using them until their expiration.
Besides ticket prices, an overall restructuring in Public Transportation is going to take place. According to sources, a new plan, by which all bus routes will be covering the existing metro lines with in-between stations, is underway. It is estimated that this plan will be completed in the next two years.
